How to Make Granola Gear Pancakes

Behold, the breakfast that keeps the mind sharp, the spirits lifted, and the belly delighted: Granola Gear Pancakes with Brainberry granola. Not mere circles of batter, oh no—these flapjacks are shaped like gears, because a proper breakfast ought to keep the great machinery of the mind turning smoothly.

(“I do adore a gear-shaped pancake. Round cakes are for commoners, but a gear implies motion, invention, progress!” – U.C.)

Ingredients

·      1 cup all-purpose flour

·      1 tablespoon sugar

·      1 teaspoon baking powder

·      ½ teaspoon baking soda

·      ¼ teaspoon salt

·      1 cup buttermilk

·      1 large egg

·      2 tablespoons melted butter (plus more for greasing)

·      ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

·      ½ cup crushed Brainberry granola (plus extra for topping)

·      Maple syrup, yogurt, or fresh berries for serving

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine the wet and dry ingredients just until smooth—do not overmix. Gently fold in the crushed Brainberry granola for that glorious crunch.

(“The granola must be crushed, but not pulverized! A crumble too fine is an indignity; the clusters should sing like tiny trumpets within the batter.” – U.C.)

Step 2: Make Them Gear-Shaped

To achieve the iconic gear form, use a silicone gear-shaped pancake mold (found in the gadgetry sections of finer emporiums). Lightly grease the mold, place it on a heated skillet (medium-low), and pour in the batter until just filled. Cook until bubbles form on top, then carefully remove the mold and flip.

(“Precision! A gear must interlock with its neighbor, else the whole contraption collapses. So too with pancakes.” – U.C.)

Step 3: Serve with Flourish

Stack your gear-shaped pancakes high, drizzle with maple syrup, and crown with extra Brainberry granolaand fresh berries. Serve with yogurt for extra protein, or simply admire your mechanical marvel before devouring.

(“I once attempted to construct an actual clock from pancakes. Alas, it was devoured before the hour struck twelve.” – U.C.)

Why Gears?

Because a breakfast that looks like an invention reminds us that every day is a chance to create, to think, to crunch and to turn the cogs of culinary genius. With nutrient-rich, omega-3-laden, blueberry-bright Brainberry granola fueling the batter, your mind will be well-oiled indeed.
